The El Cuerpo fever....

Been following the TV soap El Cuerpo del Deseo, a mexican telenovela, aired here in the Philippines by ABS-CBN TV station. Below are some of the casts:

This man on the left is known as Andres Corona in the show. He is the man I hate most in the soap.

This is Dona Rebeca. She's a disgusting woman ever. I don't like her. She's the evil voice of everybody...

The butler, Walter Franco, a nerve-wracking man. I like to cut his neck with a dull knife so that he will feel the horrible pain, just like the pain he's inflicting to his housemates.

The show will become more interesting with the presence of the antagonists. They make the audience/followers giggle with anger..Hahaha, that's exciting huh!!.. Thanks to the three characters above, Andres, Rebeca, and Walter. They make the soap worth watching for.

The Package

Today I just picked up a small package from my parents at Johnny Air Cargo. Oh, it's just a small but great!, that is, a small pack but the contents are greeeaaaatttt!!!! Come, take a look what's inside.....

Can you see that! Oh, there's a customized oakley shades for me, whew!!, lots of perfumes such as Deseo by Jennifer Lopez, kate by Kate Moss, Princess by Vera Wang, baby phat GODDESS by Kimora Lee Simmons, two ballpens, few photos of my mother, a pair of leggings, and lots of cards for my parents' friends here..

My father, Bart, and mother, Vicky are do great parents! I love them so much..., and I thank them always for the support they've given to me and to my sister and to the whole family as well... GodBless to my dear parents!

ACER

The picture above is the laptop that I'm using, it's an ACER Aspire 5560. Well, this laptop is not the latest one, but this helps me a lot, namely: saving some of the clerical works like letters; my bunch of photos are saved here; photo editing; video editing (although I'm only a neophyte video editor, lol...); playing games, and a lot more.

Aside from the above I've mentioned, my ACER laptop also assists me to be connected over the internet. Well, I'd able to have a lot of social network accounts, my blog account, etc. Besides, this also aids me to be connected with my parents abroad through video and chatting.

The Scientist & The Anthrax

The United States was shaken by anthrax during the fall of 2001. The man behind the anthrax fever was Bruce E. Ivins. He was a juggler, a gardener, a church musician, a Red Cross volunteer — and a suspected multiple murderer, according to federal authorities. Recently, report said that he received psychiatric treatment.

Ivins had worked for the past 35 years at the government's biodefense labs at Fort Detrick. For more than a decade, he worked to develop an anthrax vaccine that worked even when different strains of anthrax were mixed, which made vaccines ineffective.

Ivins, 62, committed a suicide this week, as he was the federal prosecutors’ prime suspect in 2001 anthrax attacks. Reports said that he mailed letters enclosed with anthrax powder to different people via post office.

Ivins' brother Tom, conceded the possibility that Bruce may have been the anthrax mailer.

His lawyer believed that Bruce’s untimely death was due to the relentless pressure of accusations. His colleague, Byrne, think that he was just psychologically exhausted, thus, suicide occurred.

Stationary Bicycle

Just hours ago, I just bought my new stationary bicycle. There are some reasons why I decided to buy this machine. Well, it's always been my desire to lose weight since I've gained quite a few pound. Besides, I was alarmed by the report that there will be more people from around the world, specially coming from developing countries, will get the disease diabetes. We should all know that diabetes is a condition characterized by high blood glucose levels caused by either a lack of insulin or the body's inability to use insulin efficiently. The best way to prevent this disease is to have a proper nutrition and of course regular exercise. Hence, I buy this bike to be fit always....

Passport?

At 1:30 pm today, I picked up my passport at LBC shipping co. My passport was sent back to me from a certain agent in Manila. I'm supposed to apply for a visa in Canada but unfortunately my application and everything turned out sour and bitter, so I decided to retrieve the application. That agent from Manila, who assured me to do all the paperworks and everything, screwed up. The passport was returned but the money isn't yet. Huh!...

My fave Chocolate Cake

Cake has always been my favorite since I was a child, most specially the luscious chocolate cake. Because of my craziness to cakes, I'd able to learn baking when I was in high school. I first baked chiffon cake, which of course tasted and looked awful. But for a reason of experience, that would be OK..lol... Later, my chiffon cake became perfect with the training of my high-school THE teacher.

Since I got addicted to chocolates, I started baking chocolate cakes then. I have tried this recipe, come take a look at the ingredients and its procedure below:

The Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients
Mix A- Mix below

1 cup Hershey’s Cocoa

2 cups Boiling wanter
(mix the above till smooth then cool)

Mix B- Mix well in plastic

2 3/4 cups sifted all purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

- Prepare the rest of the ingredients below
1 cup butter, softened

2 1/2 cups brown sugar

4 pieces eggs

1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Procedure
1. Cream butter; add sugar gradually. (Make sure butter is soft when starting to cream). Cream till light and fluffy.
2. At low speed, add eggs, one piece at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Add vanilla.
3. Add Mix B in fourths and Mix A in thirds alternately, ending with Mix B.
4. Bake at 350 F for 25-30 minutes in two or three 9″ round layer pans. Cool 10 minutes. Turn out onto wire rack.
5. Add fudge icing (see recipe below) to the top of one layer then combine the two layers to ice the whole cake.

The Fudge Icing
Ingredients

1 can condensed mik

1/2 cup cocoa

1/4 cup butter

1. Mix milk and cocoa with wire whisk or wooden spoon until smooth. Strain through a wire strainer.
2. Cook mixture in double boiler. Stir occasionally- when thick, remove from fire and add butter thoroughly.
3. Add desired flavor.
4. Use this icing right away. Keep bowl in double boiler to maintain warmth.

Other notes
1. You can decrease the cocoa down to 1/3 cup.

2. Icing starts getting thick when you see thick icing clinging to the sides of the bowl. Continually scrape sides of bowl until icing becomes very thick.

3. Do not over cook or else you will have a fudge candy.

New Batch of RNs

The nurse licensure examination was held last June 1 and 2 this year and another batch of new registered nurses are named. There are 27,765 pass the nursing board exam or about 43.07% who pass out of 64,459 who took the nursing licensure exam, official result from PRC.

Practically speaking, I welcome another batch of professionals without job! Really, there are a lot of nurses in the Philippines who are unemployed due to superfluous supply of nurses, hmm, including me... The country produce thousands of nursing graduates every year that makes the supply of said nurses overflow. Hence, this resulted to unemployment. For the Rn's to gain hospital experience, many of us are contented to volunteer to most hospitals without having a salary just to get a certificate as proof of evidence that hospital duties are done. This will further guarantee a nurse to be hired soon, locally or internationally.

The reality of a fresh graduate is to land for a job, much better if it is related to the course taken. Hard works were exerted to finish a certain course, specially nursing, plus another extra hard effort utilized to review to pass the board exam, not to mention the financial matters. After all those hectic activities and times spent, securing a job is the top aspiration for the new grads.

Ironically, as most universities and colleges generate more nursing graduates, who eventually will become registered nurses, the chances of acquiring a job are slimmer due to many causes - may it be due to the crisis the country is facing right now, thus, many companies and hospitals are having redundancy, may it be cost-cutting reason, so hiring of additional staffs ceased, and so on and so forth.

Speaking of salary, our (nurses) salary is too little, not enough to feed the family. This is one of the reasons why nurses migrate to another country for a greener pasture. To some newly grads, instead of looking for a job right after graduation, they choose to take international examinations like NCLEX, IELTS, etc., to be qualified to work to foreign country other than our own Philippines.

So to all registered nurses, the new RNs and the old unemployed, may we find our good, if not, the best luck the soonest possible time. Let's not lose hope for their is time for each of us.. Just remember: If there's a will, there's a way..:-)
